Programs & Committees

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Manhattan Chapter effects meaningful change through programs designed and implemented to be transformative and address current issues, concerns, and needs that impact Black women.

  • Budget and Finance: Serves in an advisory capacity to the chapter president on financial management and the status of the chapter. Provides financial reports for the Board of Directors and members to review and approve.
  • Fund Development: Responsible for building and sustaining a viable organization through consistent fundraising and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Program and Public Relations: Supports all chapter programs and activities by working with our local advocacy programming committees to develop and implement chapter programs and events through social media marketing. Establishes the program goals and maintains the program activities calendar.
  • Health: Educates, supports, and advocates for the mental and physical health of Black women such as wellness, prevention and treatment of chronic disease, holistic health and awareness and eradication of health disparities.
  • Education: Provides support services to help our youth achieve their educational and personal goals, and to develop future leaders.
  • Membership/Professional Development: Recruits members and establishes networking opportunities, provides leadership and professional development training, and membership benefits.
  • Public Policy: Research legislative issues of local state and national importance. Develop resolutions, position papers, and letters for internal and public presentation in all mission areas. Identify issues for policy consideration at all programs and promote through social media.
  • National Initiatives: Every year each chapter within NCBW is responsible for providing educational programs to the communities in which they serve on various issues including: Metabolic Health Syndrome: Heart Disease, Stroke, Diabetes; Economic Empowerment through the national Sister-nomic$ initiative; Mentoring; and STEM/STEAM Education.

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Manhattan Chapter is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-partisan network of women committed to sharing, promoting, and helping others achieve success. All members of the NCBW Manhattan Chapter are volunteers. We rely on individual, corporate and foundation support to remain a vital and relevant part of the community we serve. Together we continue to make a difference.
